Ludic Rooms is bringing back Roam + Dwell – our Summer Programme of fun, experimentation, making and play at Coventry Canal Basin every Friday from 17 June-19 August, 2.00-6.00pm. .
Ludic Rooms is committed to building creative skills and for Roam + Dwell 2022, we are offering 2 free Labs which aim to provide a deeper level of engagement in 21st Century making skills.
We are inviting anyone who is interested in putting some time into a creative exploration and who can commit to attending three creative sessions over three weeks to sign up with us. The lab sessions will last two hours per week and in week three, the share the results with members of the public
The Tech Capture Lab will be led by Indira Lakshmi and will explore using technologies to capture and visualise data about our surroundings. It will involve use of electronics and coding to make simple interactive artworks.
The Tech Capture Lab runs from 4-6pm on Fridays 1 July, 8 July & 15 July.
The Image Capture Lab will be led by Ruby Nixon and will run on Fridays 22, 29 July & 5 August. It will involve responding to the site through analogue image capture techniques including pinhole photography and cyanotype printing.
These Labs are free and for anyone with curiosity and a willingness to have a go. We want to get to know our neighbours at the Canal Basin and so we are particularly interested in recruiting residents from Foleshill and Radford for these Labs.
