Ludic Rooms is inviting Crewdson & Cevanne to return Coventry Canal to celebrate the launch of their EP and book, Rites for Crossing Water on Friday 29 April, 8pm at the Tin, Coventry Canal Basin. Tickets cost £12 and available here.
This forms part of the City of Culture’s WaterWAYS Festival and on Saturday 30, we’ll be bringing back Roam + Dwell with all kinds of free creative movement and activity at the Canal Basin. Ludic Rooms will celebrate the forthcoming May Day with a number of traditional and experimental folk activities, taking inspiration from the weaving ribbons of the May Pole. as well Crewdson & Cevanne’s canal based rites.
Most activities will be drop in, but there are some you’ll need to book;
Bookbinding Workshop
Secret Knock will be running a bookbinding workshop to create special editions of the Rites for Crossing Water book, including the opportunity to act out some of the rites for yourselves. The bookbinding workshop will take place at 2.00pm and will last approximately 2 hours. Suitable for ages 10+.
Maypole Dancing
We will be running Maypole dancing activities at 11.00, 12.00, 14.00 & 15.00. However we only have a limited number of ribbons, so there will be sign up sheets on the day to make sure as many people as possible get to enjoy the experience of traditional folk dancing.To book your places, contact bally@ludicrooms.com 02476 555 678
