A kind donation
As you might know, we’re a non-profit, but we don’t often receive donations. Just recently we were gifted a beautiful selection of tools and wanted to share the story here.
You only need to take a quick look at projects like our Nest at the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum to see how important tools are to us. Our MI:lab Summer Sharing
After ten weeks of hard work – and obviously play – on Wednesday it was time to share the amazing results of the MI:lab experimental media and digital arts programme that we run with Warwick Arts Centre. Young people from groups across two secondary schools in Coventry (and of course our WAC regulars) produced an incredible array of material that explores the overlap between digital making and physical space.
Herbert Lates: The Nest is born
On Friday night we co-hosted our first event for our new Heritage Lottery Fund project with The Herbert Art Gallery and Museum. We invited visitors to play, build, design and protest with us across the building, with each activity feeding into the research and development of the residency. We’ll be working with members of the public for the next three months to examine play under the lens of a series of societal challenges
Nest at the Herbert Play Exhibition
Thanks to support from the Heritage Lottery Fund, for the next three months we’ll be in residence at The Herbert Art Gallery and Museum poking at, exploring and building new play experiences to accompany their major summer exhibition. We’ll be leading events and workshops as well as building a series of new pieces of work in the galleries, corridors, staircases and, well, everywhere!
