ACTIVE R&D

MARCH 2024
Paddling Light - The Diviners
The very first NAIAD prototype was developed as part of this night time immersive canoeing experience / performance. Participants on the towpath were enlisted as new recruits to The Diviners, a aqua-obsessed team of cryptid hunters, using their phones as meters and readouts to join the hunt for a strange underwater force.

OCTOBER 2024
New Innovators in Immersive & Creative
We secured funding from Innovate UK to develop up the NAIAD platform into a working demonstrator, research best practice and lead a series of focus groups.

MAY 2025
Active Minutes
We began work on our first in-house production designed specifically for NAIAD, a touring immersive experience for real-world gyms and fitness spaces that explores the relationship between technology and our bodies, and how we define our own fitness and wellbeing with reference to those around us.

JULY 2025
COLLABORATIVE COMMISSIONING
With support from Arts Council England we embarked upon a series of creative collaborations, training activities, and events with multidisciplinary artists and researchers to give other practitioners their first hands-on experience of NAIAD and to fuel our learning and understanding of the platform.
