On Tuesday Dom was at Quad, delivering the first in a series of workshops as a partner for their new Artist Training and Development Programme. The day was spent with a talented and diverse collection of artists from a range of disciplines exploring the role of computer interaction in co-creating work, shaping the audience experience and monitoring engagement in a gallery context. We played with Makey Makey, the Bare Conductive Touch Board and touched briefly on Arduino, feeding into keyboard soundboards using SoundPlant and MIDI control to a software synth before rapidly prototyping ideas for original interactive work in Scratch. Looking forward to the next one in a couple of weeks where we’ll be exploring capacitive materials a little further.

Here’s a couple of the bits made by workshop participants.
